Williamstown Farmers Market Requests Donations to Feed Those in Need

The Williamstown Farmers Market, which is operating this season as a pre-order e-market, has organized a community initiative to provide weekly donations of food to families in northern Berkshire County who are in need.

Food is being purchased weekly with financial contributions made to the market.  Berkshire Health Systems and Berkshire United Way have agreed to match donations 100%, thus doubling the amount of food that can be purchased.  In addition, farmers are donating surplus items.

Williamstown Apothecary Opens on Spring Street

A new pharmacy, a collaboration between Berkshire Health Systems and Williams College, has opened at 72 Spring Street where Library Antiques used to be.  It’s a full service pharmacy with access to prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, herbal teas, skin care products and other things you’d expect to find in a drugstore. They also deliver. The phone number is (413)458-7373.  The Williamstown Apothecary’s hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 6 pm, Saturdays from 8 am to 2 pm, and Sundays from 9 am to 1 pm.
