A description follows.
Bette Craig, President
Williamstown Historical Museum seeking Executive Director
The museum is the official repository of historical documents belonging to the Town of Williamstown. In addition, it showcases a vast collection of artifacts and provides a variety of programs for all ages that spark an interest in how our past influences our lives today. The museum is located at 32 New Ashford Road (Route 7 South) in the Williamstown Five Corners Historic District.
The Executive Director provides visionary leadership in all aspects of the Williamstown Historical Museum’s programs and services: supervising the collection and its acquisitions, the mounting of exhibits and contributions to its quarterly newsletter. The E.D. assures appropriate stewardship of WHM's financial and facility resources, develops and monitors systems for effective administration and participates in staff development – especially local volunteers and student interns. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors.
This is a part-time position of 20 hours per week, including weekend hours. Applicants must be competent in Microsoft Word and its suite of programs. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential as is a genuine desire to meet and work with visitors. An interest in local history is certainly a plus. Submit a cover letter and resume via email to email@example.com with the heading “WHM Executive Director Search.” Applications will be considered until the position is filled.
