Green River Cleanup Walk Postponed to July 24 at 1pm

High water and murkiness has caused postponement of cleanup walk of Green River originally scheduled for July 10.  If you’re able bodied and not afraid of slipping on wet stones, the South Williamstown Community Association and the Hoosic River Watershed Association invite you to take part in a cleanup walk along the Green River on Saturday, July 24 at 1pm.  The Town of Williamstown has for the last few years been addressing the debris washing into the river from a former town landfill located behind the Hart farm on New Ashford Road (Route 7), but there is still work to be done.  Park at the Hart Garage and cross the road to walk down the driveway at the Thaisz’s house, 340 New Ashford Road.  You’ll need rubber boots or water shoes and gloves and don’t forget to spray yourself with insect repellant.  The Town will provide garbage bags and arrange for disposal.

Bee Friendly Butterfly Walk has been rescheduled from today until June 16, same time, same place.
